2026 Workshops • Scratch Art

Each student will receive a SEASON PASS to the Laguna Art-A-Fair — for each workshop they attend.
The instructors will have them for you when you arrive to class. All workshops are 4 hours per session, from 10:15am to 2:45pm (unless otherwise specified). Open to individuals 16 and older, unless otherwise specified (12-15 permitted with parent/guardian participation.) All materials are provided (except as noted). Workshop fees are non-refundable. Discover the striking art of scratchboard—where bold black surfaces are transformed into luminous images, one precise mark at a time. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to transfer your design, master essential tools and techniques, and create depth, texture, and stunning detail through controlled scratching. Whether you’re new or experienced, you’ll leave with a finished piece and the confidence to continue exploring this addictive and rewarding medium. 

You will end up with a dramatic black and white art piece. There will be a variety of images provided or you can bring a 5x7 image of your choice printed on regular paper. No people portraits at this time. Bring images of flowers or animals or pets to start.
