This immersive abstract acrylic series is designed to guide adults from creative hesitation to confident self-expression. Across nine hands-on workshops, participants move through fear, freedom, voice, risk, color, and ultimately into owning their unique artistic fingerprint. 

All workshops are beginner-friendly and welcoming to experienced creatives ready to deepen their practice.

PHASE I: BREAKING THROUGH

  • Fear keeps more people from painting than lack of talent ever will. This workshop is for the person who has always wanted to paint, but hesitated. The one who worries about “ruining it.” The one who thinks they’re not creative enough. Through guided abstract exercises using acrylics, you’ll learn how to move before doubt can stop you. We’ll loosen perfectionism, interrupt overthinking, and replace hesitation with action. You will leave with at least one completed 12x12 abstract painting, and proof that fear is not in charge

  • Freedom isn’t a concept. It’s a decision. In this immersive session, you’ll practice letting go of rigid expectations and begin trusting your instincts on canvas. Through layered abstraction, texture, movement, and intuitive composition, you’ll experience what it feels like to create without asking for permission. This workshop is about expanding. Breathing. Allowing the painting to evolve instead of controlling every outcome. You’ll leave with a finished 12x12 painting work that feels alive, and unmistakably yours.

  • Somewhere along the way, adults forget how to play. This workshop reintroduces curiosity, experimentation, and joy into your creative process. We’ll use unexpected tools, bold mark-making, and layered acrylic techniques to shift from pressure into exploration. When play returns, creativity follows You’ll leave with expressive abstract work that carries energy, movement, and renewed excitement.

PHASE II: FINDING YOUR VOICE

  • Technique can only take you so far. Voice takes you further. In this workshop, we shift from “how it should look” to “what needs to be expressed.” Through guided prompts and intuitive abstraction, you’ll translate emotion, memory, and internal experience into visual language. This is where your work becomes personal.  You’ll leave with a painting that reflects something real,  not rehearsed.

  • Every artist has a voice. Most just haven’t learned to recognize it yet. In this session, you’ll identify your natural preferences — the colors you return to, the movements you repeat, the contrasts that feel right. Instead of copying trends, you’ll refine what is already emerging within you. This is where confidence begins. You’ll leave with artwork that feels distinctly yours, not borrowed.

  • Growth requires risk. In this workshop, you’ll practice making strong decisions, in color, contrast, scale, and composition. No more timid brushstrokes. No more stopping too soon. You’ll learn when to push a painting further, and when to trust that it’s complete. You’ll leave with dynamic, confident abstract work that reflects courage on canvas.

PHASE III: OWNING YOUR EXPRESSION

  • Color is not decoration. It’s language. In this workshop, you’ll explore how color communicates mood, energy, tension, and harmony. You’ll experiment with intuitive palette development and bold contrasts while staying rooted in abstraction. When color becomes intentional, your work becomes powerful. You’ll leave with a painting that speaks without words.

  • Many artists aren’t blocked by ability — they’re blocked by invisible rules. In this workshop, we dismantle “should.”

    • Should it look balanced? 

    • Should it be pretty?  

    • Should it match?

    Through experimental abstraction, you’ll challenge habits and break patterns that limit your expression. You’ll leave with work that feels freer, more honest, and less restraint.  

  • No one else paints like you. No one ever will. This culminating workshop brings everything together,  courage, play, color, risk, and voice. You’ll create an abstract painting that reflects your individual mark, movement, and instinct. Not perfect. Not polished for approval. Yours. You’ll leave with a finished piece that represents your artistic fingerprint  and the confidence to keep developing it long after the series ends.
