In this workshop you’ll learn how to mix all of your own colors using only the 3 primaries. You’ll learn the uses for different styles and sizes of brushes plus tons of tips and tricks to help you with future paintings and go home with a work of art you’re proud of. Anyone can do this!

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Learn to make a basket made from long leaf pine needles, using waxed Irish linen, an assortment of beads or other embellishments, starting with a stone center. Topics to be covered include the differences between pine needle types, preparing the needles, waxed Irish linen, basket centers, embellishing your basket, and how to start and how to finish your basket. Students have the option to weave a basket, a pendant, or an ornament. Basketweaving is a wonderful way to recycle from nature and is also a meditative activity.

In this step-by-step and easy to follow workshop you will learn the basics on how to paint nature scenes including landscapes, trees and water. An emphasis will be on the basics of color mixing, brush strokes and how to create perspective and depth in your paintings.

Create your own mandala (circle) design as you learn about various watercolor pencil techniques. . You will be guided step-by-step through the process of designing your mandala while exploring the differences between using watercolor and mulberry paper. Mandalas represent joy, transformation, healing, and peace. Many people find the process of creating a mandala to be a deeply meditative experience.
