Join the Party at the Art-A-Fair … Lagunans For Free!

June 20, 2008 - Laguna Beach, CA – The Art-A-Fair opens to the public on Fri., June 27. The entertainment schedule for the summer features live music each Sat. and Sun. on the Piazza Venezia stage at the front of the grounds. From Motown to mambo and rock to reggae, there is sure to be something appealing to all musical tastes. And, if you show your I.D. with a Laguna address, you will be admitted free every day of the week!

Live music is scheduled for every Sat. from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sundays, bands will be playing from noon to 3:00, and 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. There is also a small floor to show off your dance moves. For those seeking some-thing fun for the 4th of July (a Friday), music will be presented from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

As always Tivoli Too! offers fine food and beverages – including their award-winning Margaritas – to eat at the restaurant by the side of the waterfall, or take-out to enjoy elsewhere on the grounds. And for the first time this year, Tivoli will operate a casual walk-up snack bar for sodas, wine and snacks.

Featured musical performers include Redd Street, Heart ‘n Soul, Satin Blue, Uncle Monkey, Rideshare, Sounds of Paradise, Swingsensations, Surftones, Upstream, and Augies’ Side Effect.

The Art-A-Fair also has a full calendar of free workshops in the outside courtyard. They are taught by exhibiting artists and offered seven days a week between the hours of 10:00 and 2:00. Budding artists of all ages can experience Venetian mask painting, making a birdhouse, learning the basics of painting with a palette knife, crafts and gift making, the age-old art of scratchboard among others.

For the first time this year, on Fridays from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. there will be a demonstration taking place at the Central Gazebo, where various artists will create works of art in various mediums while working from the same model.

The Art-A-Fair is open Sun. through Thurs., from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fri. and Sat. 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. A season admission ticket is $7.00 for adults, $3.50 for seniors, students and military. Laguna residents presenting a local I.D. are always admitted free, as are children 12 and under with a paid adult admission.
