Artists Chosen for Laguna Beach Art-A-Fair Show
February 15, 2010 – Nearly 150 artists, some as far away as South America and Korea, submitted artwork on February 14 to be considered for admission to Art-A-Fair, the renowned Laguna Beach art festival. At the end of the day, 32 were accepted to exhibit their work at this summer’s show to be held June 25 – August 29.
Local applicants were joined by others from New York, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and Indiana. They delivered three samples of original work in two and three-dimensional media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, ceramics, glass, jewelry, photography and wood. A nine person jury, comprised of professional fine artists and master crafts-persons, reviewed each artist’s work and awarded points based on excellence in conception, execution and presentation.
"The competition was very high this year, due to the impressive work submitted by the artists and the limited number of spots available,” said Joyce Kasprzyk, Vice President Marketing, Art-A-Fair. "This year’s collection is remarkable, and we know visitors and patrons of the arts will enjoy it very much,” she stated.
Art-A-Fair is a premiere art show held every summer in Laguna Beach. It is the only one of the three Laguna art festivals that exhibits international, national and local artists. Its reputation for exceptional fine art promises an outstanding exhibition by approximately 125 artists. Art-A-Fair is located at 777 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach.
