Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the average attendance and where do the Laguna Beach festivals' visitors come from?
Attendance varies from 60 to 80 thousand for the run of the show. About 70% of the visitors are from Southern California or nearby states such as Arizona. As Laguna Beach is an international travel destination we also get many foreign visitors.

How much money can I expect to make?
This is a difficult question and depends largely on the type of work you do and how skilled you are at marketing and selling your work. Some Individual artist's sales are over $40,000.00. Over the course of the show over $850,000 of artwork is sold each year. We expect to reach one milllion dollars in artist's sales.

How are sales handled? Do I have to man my booth every day?
Art-A-Fair maintains a sales booth during the course of the show. All sales are handled through this booth relieving the artist of the need to be in their booth at all times. Artists who spend a lot of time at their booth talking to guests generally do better that artists that set up their display and walk away for the summer, but the choice is yours.

What are the artist work shifts that are mentioned in the rules section?
Art-A-Fair is a cooperative art festival and in order to keep the show running each participating artist agrees to a designated six hour work shift per week, attend the training session for their particular work shift, or be responsible for having the shift covered by an approved individual. Available work shifts include ticket taking, sales, light maintenance, and security. Artists who would rather not work a shift may pay the Art-A-Fair to hire someone to do it for them at a cost of $725.00.

How much work should I display at one time?
Again, this depends on your style of work. To maintain a pleasing visual appearance it is advised that you do not clutter your booth or hang so many pieces that the walls of you booth are no longer visible. Presentation is just as important as the quality of your work to both the public and the Art-A-Fair Jury.

How long has the festival been in operation?
